The three level residence respects the Abita style cottage predominant in the region, replete with tin roofing and wide veranda, but with exuberant Italianate flourishes and detailing. The structures are elevated above a floor plain on timber piles.
The orientation of the Studio is focused on the cupola of the Vatican Pavilion salvaged from the 1984 World’s Fair in New Orleans, as well as to the Abita River and the architect’s residence on the site.
